Booking terms and conditions of Melo Capurganá — Social Hostel.

2. Adults only (18+)

Melo Capurganá is a social hostel for guests aged 18 and over. Minors are not allowed to enter or stay. An ID document will be requested upon arrival. If at check-in the guest is found to be underage, entry will be denied and no refund will be given.

3. Prices and taxes

  • All prices are in Colombian pesos (COP) and include VAT (IVA).
  • The price shown when booking is the final price for the services purchased.
  • Not included: dock fees and boarding taxes for tours (approx. $15,000 COP per person), paid directly at the dock.

4. Booking payment

  • 100% of the total is charged at the time of booking. Your booking is only confirmed once the payment is approved.
  • Online payments are processed through Wompi, an authorized payment platform. Melo does not store card details.
  • Card payment surcharge AT THE HOSTEL: card payments made directly at reception carry a surcharge of 3% (Colombian cards) or 6% (international cards). Bookings paid online do not have this surcharge.

5. Cancellation and change policy ⚠️ (read carefully)

Please read carefully. No exceptions will be made.

  • NO refunds are given, under any circumstances.
  • One (1) single date change is allowed, subject to these conditions:
    • It must be requested at least 8 calendar days before the arrival date.
    • The new date must fall within 365 days of the original booking date.
    • It is subject to availability.
    • Only one change per booking is allowed (the change is not reversible or repeatable).
    • If the new date has a higher rate, the guest pays the difference. If it is lower, the difference is not refunded.
  • Early departure: if the guest decides to leave early, the nights already paid are not refunded.
  • No-show: if the guest does not arrive and did not give notice, the full booking amount is charged with no refund.
  • How to request a date change: only via WhatsApp at +57 314 632 8428, stating your booking number. Requests sent through any other channel are not considered received.

6. Check-in and check-out

  • Check-in: from 3:00 pm
  • Check-out: until 11:00 am
  • Late check-out: until 3:00 pm, for an additional $90,000 COP, subject to availability and requested in advance.
  • After 3:00 pm without authorization, the full daily rate is charged. If there is an incoming booking and the room has not been vacated, staff will remove and store personal belongings in order to receive the next guest.

7. Tours and experiences

  • Booked tours are subject to weather and sea conditions. If a tour is cancelled due to weather or safety, it is rescheduled within your stay or, if that is not possible, only the tour amount is refunded.
  • Tours crossing into Panama (La Miel) require a valid ID card or passport. It is the guest's responsibility to carry it. Without a document you cannot cross and there is no refund.
  • Dock fees and taxes are not included.
  • Guests take part in tours at their own risk, declaring that they are in adequate physical condition.

8. Transport (boats)

  • The boat service from Necoclí or Turbo departs at 8:00 am, it is the only departure of the day, and guests must be at the dock by 7:00 am.
  • If a guest misses the boat, the seat is not refunded or rescheduled free of charge.
  • Boats are subject to sea conditions and port authority decisions. Melo is not responsible for cancellations beyond its control.

9. Liability

  • Melo is not responsible for damage to or loss of personal belongings. We recommend using the available lockers.
  • The facilities are rustic and set in the middle of nature. Guests acknowledge that the risks are greater than in traditional buildings, and agree to act with extra care and caution within the premises.
  • Guests are financially responsible for any damage they cause during their stay (stains, burns, cuts, breakage, etc.).

10. Right of admission

Melo reserves the right of admission and permanence.

11. Prevention of sexual exploitation of minors (Laws 679/2001 and 1336/2009)

Melo Capurganá rejects and works to prevent the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESCNNA). Be advised that the exploitation and sexual abuse of minors in Colombia are punished criminally and administratively, in accordance with current law. Report: Hotline 141 (ICBF) or www.policia.gov.co.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Colombian law. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent judges and courts of Colombia.
